What is IMPACT CONNECT?
Impact Connect is a regional platform designed to help develop the capacity of social innovators in South East Asia and connect them to leading universities and global changemakers.
As part of the IMPACT CONNECT programme, we will running Social Innovation Studios in 4 countries in Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand) between March and May 2018. The Social Innovation Studios are designed to provide a solid understanding of social innovation, share best practice, and connect participants into a local and global network.
The Studios will present a unique opportunity for those new to the field of social innovation to develop their ideas and deepen their understanding of social innovation by drawing on global knowledge and working with key local collaborators. For those more experienced in their understanding of social innovation, they present a rich global networking opportunity and the chance to strengthen and deepen their skillset.
We aim to have 30 participants per each workshop, ensuring that they are interactive and collaborative, allowing us to dive deeper into specific challenges and opportunities and build on the knowledge in the room.

Who can apply?
We’re looking for participants with ideas, solutions and innovations that have a clear and direct approach to solving a social and/or environmental issue or problem or individuals who are interested in learning more about the social innovation process.
The Social Innovation Studios are aimed at those in the university environment including students, faculty, administrators, but are welcome to anyone else in the community, recognising the cross-sector nature of social innovation and the benefits of diversity.
* All applicants must cover expenses related to their travel and accommodation to participate in the workshops.

Online launch of Impact Connect: 20 November 2017
Application deadline:
Application for Studios in Myanmar and Thailand is now closed.
Application for Studios in Cambodia and Malaysia has been extended to 3 March.
Announcement of Awardees:
– We will announce successful candidates for Studios in Myanmar and Thailand by 9 March, 2018 by e-mail.
– We will announce successful candidates for Studios in Malaysia and Cambodia by 30 March, 2018 by e-mail.

22-23 March, 2018 – Bangkok, Thailand
9-10 April, 2018 – Phnom Penh, Cambodia
12-13 April, 2018 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Organisers
Social Innovation Exchange (SIX) , the world’s primary network focusing on social innovation and Scope Group, Southeast Asian-based social innovation advisors have been working together to design Impact Connect programme. ID+DesisLab is held in the Research Institute for Design, Media and Culture [ID+], an organisation jointly hosted by the Universidade de Aveiro and the Universidade de Porto.
The Social Innovation Studios will be delivered by SIX and the ID+DesisLab.
